About us

We are a supported employment service that helps to connect Winnipeg businesses to job seekers with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

We provide pre-employment services such as resume writing, interview preparation, and job search assistance.

We can assist with job training support, both onsite and offsite when someone is starting a new job.

We will provide long-term employment follow-up support to assist both the individual hired and the employer to deal with any challenges as they arise.

How it all began

History

Premier Personnel began providing supported employment services in 1983.  We are the first specifically community-based employment service for people with intellectual disabilities in Winnipeg and we are proud to still be doing this important work.  In the beginning, the people we supported were students who were attending a segregated school specifically for people with disabilities and had very limited employment opportunities when they were done school.

A dedicated group of parents, educators, and community advocates believed that these students had more to offer and were able to work with the province to start our program.  Through the years our program has adapted to the changing landscape and continues to do our best to support as many people as possible to meet their employment needs.  The types of jobs that we have been able to find have become more and more diverse and employers have become more open to hiring inclusively.  We look forward to continuing to evolve and grow to make sure that the people we support continue to be able to reach their employment goals.
